The Windrow Manager brings all this information together on your PC screen, so you can see what is happening at your facility.
Visualization
The first step is drawing a map of your site with the size and location of your compost piles using the facility layout tool. The map allows you to visualize the whole operation by displaying the current temperature data and scheduled tasks on top of each windrow. There is also a new windrow list display mode that allows you to view detailed information about your batches without opening several windows.
All of your batch's feedstocks, scheduled tasks, temperature records and current status can be viewed on one screen. You can switch between the new list view and the facility layout view quickly and easily by selecting the desired mode on the toolbar. The facility layout view has also been enhanced with a weather display and color gradients for viewing oxygen and moisture levels.
Automatic Scheduling
Using the configuration window, you can select default settings for the type of regulations, whether EPA 503 or USDA NOP’s or user definable standards, for time/temperature and turning requirements.
Data Collection & Reporting
The Windrow Manager prints daily sampling sheets with a map showing where in the pile the sample should be taken. The software tracks the number of pathogen vector reduction days which have been achieved. The temperature data is maintained in separate text files and can be viewed in graph or tabular form and sent via e-mail to regulators. GMT offers free graph viewers to regulators so they can download, print and review your reports.
Feedstock Management
The software will automatically calculate and record the total volume and the C:N ratio from a library of feedstock properties.
Load Manifesting
Maintain records of incoming and outgoing loads and issue manifests. Includes a customer database to track all transactions by client and compost batch.
Track Weather Conditions Automatically
Weather can have a significant impact on your composting operations. Windrow Manager version 2 now tracks common weather parameters such as temperature, humidity, wind and barometric pressure as a part of your facility's records. Weather data is retrieved automatically over the internet from the nearest National Weather Service station. You can also choose to enter weather data manually, or collect data from a compatible weather station at your site (additional software module required). All weather data for your facility is stored in a log file which can be viewed alone or alongside any compost batch record.
Shift and Combine Compost Batches
Every windrow composting facility is different, and we want our software to be as flexible as possible when it comes to accommodating the procedures and practices that work best for you. Windrow Manager 2.0 adds more flexibility by allowing you to 'shift' and 'combine' compost batches between windrow bays. Shifting simply relocates the batch record to an empty windrow bay on your facility, while combining merges two batch records into one windrow bay. Both of these functions are designed to better reflect the actual movement of material in your facility.
Pocket PC Software
Features have been added to the PocketPC software to allow the operator to do more while in the field. In addition to entering temperature, oxygen and moisture data, you can now open different facilities, start and stop batches, shift and combine batches, and manage scheduled tasks and feedstocks all from the PocketPC.
Flexible Pricing
The Windrow Manager software is bundled in Basic, Standard and Premium packages. The features and pricing are designed to meet the needs of small or large facilities. The premium package includes a field sampling probe and armored iPAQ Pocket PC that automatically stores the temperature and oxygen samples in the field. The data is then downloaded directly to the Windrow Manager desktop software, eliminating the need for writing and data entry. Probes are available for sampling temperature and oxygen, or temperature only.
