Earth Flow
IN-VESSEL COMPOSTING creates GORGEOUS COMPOST ON-SITE
The award-winning Earth Flow™ automated mixing system shreds and aerates compost while gradually moving the material toward the discharge end of the vessel, requiring little labor beyond loading and unloading. The Earth Flow™ operates without odors, while making gorgeous compost.
The Earth Flow is guaranteed not to cause odor problems when operated according to specifications. It is America’s top-selling in-vessel composting system because it has been proven for over 20 years to be effective, long-lasting and easy to operate.
Depending on the avoided waste-disposal costs and local market-value of the compost produced, our financing options can make the Earth Flow™ immediately cash-flow positive for qualified customers. (meaning the monthly finance payment is lower than the monthly savings)
Below is an example of the potential monthly cash-flow + savings from 40ft Intermodal Earth Flow™ that processes 45 tons of material per month. This example shows the monthly payment on a system financed over 7 years at 7.99% interest. The monthly savings is based on avoided solid waste disposal costs of $65/ton and compost market value of $50/ton:
Tons Per Month of Material Composted, 14 Day Retention | 45 |
Monthly Avoided Disposal Costs, Compost Value, minus Operating Costs | $4,200 |
Monthly Finance Payment 7 yr term @ 7.99% | -$2,857 |
Monthly Cash Flow Including Finance Payment | $1,343 |
AUGER MIXING
The computer controlled system automatically mixes and aerates the compost inside the Earth Flow.™ The stainless steel auger moves side-to-side and front-and-back within the vessel. The auger churns and shreds the compost in the vessel, advancing it slowly toward the discharge end. A control panel allows for automatic operation with multiple mix patterns and programmable timer cycles. The drive motors are controlled by efficient variable frequency drives to regulate the auger speed while minimizing the use of electricity.
CONTINUOUS FLOW DESIGN
Compostable materials can be added daily to the loading end of the Earth Flow.™ The typical process time for the waste to flow through the vessel is 14 to 21 days. As the organic waste converts into compost, its volume is reduced by about 50-60% allowing compost to be unloaded about once a week. To unload compost, open the discharge door and the auger will lift the compost up to 3 feet and push out several yards of compost into a bucket loader, car or pick-up truck.
