The Recology Ostrom Organics composting facility in the San Francisco Bay area of California was awarded the 2023 Organics Management Facility of the Year Award by the National Waste & Recycling Association. The facility, designed by Green Mountain Technologies, processes more than 500,000 tons of material per year, including more than 130,000 tons of food waste processed since 2020.
In 2019, GMT designed a cutting edge 48-zone reversing aeration system with below grade sparger aeration and WebMACS controls, dramatically increasing the capacity and efficiency of the facility.
